UNIT 1 - Four Weeks

What’s in the Unit?

At Zoobitat.org, we believe every child can grow into a Nature Hero! That’s why we’ve created this FREE, four-week curriculum designed for children ages 4–10. Through hands-on exploration, STEM-based activities, and creative storytelling, kids will learn about the wonders of wildlife and how we can all take action to protect it.

Each week focuses on a different theme, blending NGSS-aligned science concepts with key conservation principles. Younger learners discover through play, coloring, and simple observation, while older students dive into inquiry, problem-solving, and projects.

Along the way, children will:

  • Explore habitats and biodiversity.

  • Understand how human actions affect wildlife.

  • Practice solutions like recycling, planting, and community clean-ups.

  • Build pride in their role as protectors of the planet.

The program includes:

  • Detailed Teacher Guides, with suggested lesson plans for each week

  • Engaging short videos (~1–4 minutes) with our ZoobiRanger animated characters

  • Printable worksheets, journals, and cut-out materials

  • Interactive activities designed for classrooms, families, and homeschoolers.

By the end of the four weeks, kids won’t just know why nature matters — they’ll see that their actions can make a difference. With the knowledge they gain, they’ll be ready to step into their communities as the Zoobitat Nature Heroes of tomorrow!

NGSS Alignment

This curriculum connects directly to the Next Generation Science Standards (K–5). Core ideas include organisms’ needs and habitats, biodiversity, and human impacts on Earth’s systems — always paired with age-appropriate solutions. Crosscutting concepts such as Patterns, Cause & Effect, and Systems are woven throughout, while science practices like observing, modeling, and communicating are emphasized. Each week builds progressively, from K-LS1 and K-ESS3 (basic needs and care for the environment) through 2-LS4 (habitats and diversity) to 3–5-ESS3 (community action for conservation).

Why Teachers Will Love This Curriculum

The Zoobitat 4-Week Curriculum is designed to make teaching wildlife conservation, habitats, recycling, and environmental science easy and engaging. Each unit is NGSS-aligned and built around STEM-focused lesson plans with ready-to-use activities, printable worksheets, and short videos. Teachers save time on planning while giving students hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and meet science standards. With flexible resources for grades K–5, this program helps educators bring real-world conservation topics into the classroom in a way that’s age-appropriate, memorable, and fun.

At Zoobitat, we know small actions can lead to big change — and together, we’re raising the next generation of Nature Heroes!
